HM-Mitsubishi launches Outlander Chrome limited edition

Hindustan Motors-Mitsubishi has launched a limited edition of its stylish sports utility vehicle Outlander. The new variant named Outlander Chrome is packed with new stylish and attractive features which enhance its sporty and fashionable looks.

Maruti plans to roll global car in near future

Latest news to hit the Indian auto industry is Maruti Suzuki India’s plan to launch a global car by 2017.

I V Rao, Managing Executive Officer (R &D) mentioned in a report about company’s plan to launch a new car in the Market. He added once their R & D center at Rohtak is started, the company will focus on launching the car. Suzuki Motor Corp (SMC) will assist in the manufacturing of this global car. It will help in improving the efficiency and standards of the car for launch in the European and Japanese markets. It is expected to roll out in 2017.

The others cars introduced by Maruti are Swift and Maruti Ritz. Both the cars have churned out high sales figure in Indian car market. At present company is active with pre-launch work for a new car to be rolled out in small segment, next year. It will be powered with 800cc engine and will have same platform used by company’s existing cars.

Company has invested around Rs. 1500 crore on the manufacturing of this new model in its R&D plant in Rohtak. This is SMC’s first significant centre outside Japan, company is focusing on enhancing its new plant and aims to manufacture a full model at Rohtak. The cars rolled out by the company include Maruti Swift, Maruti Ritz, Maruti Alto, Maruti Zen, Maruti Wagon R, Maruti A-Star, Maruti Eeco, Maruti Grand Vitara, Maruti Gypsy, Maruti Kizashi, Maruti Omni, Maruti Swift Dzire and Maruti SX4 under its portfolio in the Indian market.

GM launches Chevrolet Beat in Jaipur


General Motors India has launched its brand new Chevrolet Beat diesel hatchback in Jaipur. Chevrolet Beat diesel is one of the most fuel efficient cars in India. The all new Chevrolet Beat diesel is targeted at Indian consumers and it is the best in the segment.

Among the new cars slated for release, some of the car models are likely to come from SAIC Motors villages, the Chinese business associate of GM India. The R&D team in Bangalore in cooperation with the designing team is working in full swing. Apart from this, the company is also working on localization of their upcoming cars, which will suit the Indian conditions.

Mahindra to Launch Mahindra W201 SUV on September 26

Auto major Mahindra and Mahindra is busy with launch plans. It is believed to be in talks to launch Mahindra W201 SUV by end of September. Speculations are rife that the launch date in India would be around the last week of September. Mahindra is all geared up for the launch and has already been in talks with their vendor chain to manage the launch and sale.

According to experts, the all new Mahindra W201 SUV gets ten on ten for looks. It has a strong build and the masculine contours compliment its functionality. GM Set to Launch 3 More Cars in India by The Year End

General Motors is set to launch three more cars by the end of 2011 in the Indian Auto Market. The cars to be launched include an SUV, sedan and a hatchback. These cars will be launched by the year 2012 along with Chevrolet Tavera (the Euro IV version) by the end of 2011.

The VP General Motors, Mr. Mr. P. Balendran has informed that currenlty their R & D team in Banglore is working on localization of the upcoming 5 cars to be launched by GM by 2012. Few of these cars are anticipated to be from SAIC Motors, the Chinese business partner of General Motors India.

GM India has massive investment plan in India. Company is set to gear up after facing the downtrend in Indian Auto Market. GM india is planning to expand their manufacturing plan in Talegaon and Halol by investing $ 500 million. The quoted investment figure is in accumulation with Rs. 5000 Crore investment that has been made by international automotive major in the country. This huge investment will impart more flexibility to the new and upcoming models.

GM India’s total sales figure for the last year was 1.1 Lakh units in India. This year they hope to reach the mark of 1.4 lakh. General Motors India is aiming to double its market share in India. Recently launched, Chevrolet Beat diesel, small car by General motors, ranging from Rs. 4.37 to Rs. 5.55 Lakh has received decent reviews and it is expected that it’ll gear up the sales of General Motors India.

Audi A6 Car prics in India

Audi is a brand that reflects sophistication and a special aura. The German luxury car, a wholly-owned Volkswagen subsidiary is planning to launch Audi A6 this year. There have been speculated dates for the impending new Audi A6 India launch. Earlier it was rumored that the new launch will be anytime in the month of September. Ford To Launch New Models Priced Between Rs. 3.69 to Rs 5.57 lakh by 2015

Ford has enticed the Indian auto market with its super performer Ford Figo. The auto major now plans to launch new hatchbacks by 2015. The hatchback is much popular than sedans as Indian roads and the ever growing traffic makes hatchbacks more maneuverable. Therefore when it comes to automobiles, brands like Maruti and Hyundai have had huge success. In keeping with the competition, premium brands like Mercedes, General Motors and Toyota are now into hatchback manufacturing. Ford India has gone one step ahead and aims to enter tier II and Tier III cities to improve sales. Besides, Ford India has reiterated that the eight new model launches in pipeline right now are likely to fall in the range of the Ford Figo price of Rs 3.69 –Rs 5.57 lakhs.

The news was confirmed by Joseph R Hinrichs, President of Ford Motors of Asia Pacific and Africa. He said that the eight models due by this mid-decade are hatchbacks, and 70% of the revenue is generated from the hatchback segment in India. Ford has apparently increased their share price from 1% to 3% currently. Ford India, which sold 83,887 cars in 2010, is almost three times it car sales in 2009. Ford India’s Ford Figo alone has been responsible for car sales of more than 60,000 units. Mr. Hinrichs expressed his hope saying that, Ford Motors expects one third of its sales to come from Asia Pacific and Africa regions by 2020. As of now, Asia Pacific and Africa regions, together, account for one-sixth of the total annual sales. Seemingly, Ford India mulls to introduce over 50 vehicles launch in Asia Pacific and African region by 2015.

Ford India has also announced its decision to set up its second plant in Gujarat with its intention to change its headquarters to New Delhi from Chennai. Mr. Hinrichs had commented that the new plant is the key to realize their growth strategy in India as it happens to be the most happening auto market in the world.

Tata Motors Launches Tata Aria 4x2 Luxurious Crossover in India

Tata Motors today launched the Tata Aria 4x2, a luxurious creation with the finesse of a sedan and the muscle of an SUV all combined in one car with 4x2 option.

The Tata Aria is already available in four-wheel drive, launched in October 2010. The Tata Aria 4x2 extends the range to new segments and redefines several benchmarks with its design and technologies, offering class leading features that take comfort, and convenience to a new height.

Muscle of an SUV in the Tata Aria 4x2:

BMW to Launch BMW X3 on August 25, 2011

The German luxury brand BMW is all set to launch the new BMW X3 on August 25, 2011. According to sources, the new BMW X3 will be launched with all-diesel variants and 3L inline six turbo diesel engine. The new BMW X 3 price is expected to be in the range of Rs 41.2 lakh to Rs 42.2 lakh.

The trend of launching the latest diesel option was initiated by Volkswagen India. The launch of the diesel variant of the Volkswagen Passat sedan early this year was one of the prominent steps. Yet another luxury brand adopts the trend and the launch of Renault Fluence is one such example. The Fluence sedan with the diesel engine is noted to be a large traffic puller while the petrol variant remains a premium model.

The 2011 BMW X3 crossover model has been launched with a 2 liter diesel engine producing a maximum power output of 180 Bhp and a maximum torque of 350 Nm. This all new diesel vehicle may turn out to be a trend-setter in the Indian auto market with diesel cars in higher demand, overriding the petrol cars demand. The all new BMW X3 is slated to come with a host of advanced technologies like Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) and ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System) to provide a stronger hold on the roads in most difficult situations.

The new BMW X3 will also be loaded with other interesting features like Hi-Fi loudspeaker for maximum sound output, effective climate control and luxurious interiors. The upcoming new BMW X3 will compete against Audi Q5 and yet to come Mercedes Benz GLK.
