Skoda is all set to unveil the Skoda Yeti SUV at the 2010 Delhi Auto Expo which would be held in Delhi starting January 5, 2010. The official launch would take place in 2011. The model is distinguished by its unique designs and safety features with comfort and functionality.
The all new Skoda Yeti SUV will sport engines which range from 1.6-2.0L (petrol) to a 1.9L turbo diesel engine. Skoda Yeti SUV would be imported as CKD and assembled at company's Aurangabad plant. It is however not a fully grown SUV as it measures a mere 4.2m in length.
Skoda is yet to reveal the details about its India model. The detailed technical specifications would be available only when the model is officially launched in India. The official statement from Skoda Auto India states that "The new model comes with new engines and new technical solutions, such as the off-road regime that adapts the settings of the electronic systems to driving on rough terrain, an electrically-controlled two-part panoramic sunroof and a fixing system with horizontal slats and movable hooks in the luggage space".
Skoda Yeti's compact dimensions ensure trouble-free maneuverability in the city. Skoda Yeti SUV is likely to be priced in range of Rs 10-12 lakh and would become the first SUV to be launched by a non-Indian auto maker in that price bracket.
