Tata Indigo Vista likely to roll out by early 2009

For all those who loved the Tata Indica, there's news to cheer about! Tata is planning to launch the Tata Indigo Vista by early 2009 in the same platform as the Tata Indica Vista.

According to reports, while the new Tata Indigo Vista diesel will be equipped with the 1.3l Multijet engine of the Fiat Linea, the petrol variant of the Tata Indigo Vista would be equipped with the 1.4l petrol engine powering the current Tata Indigo.

Among the many great features of the yet to be launched Tata Indigo Vista are longer wheelbase compared to the current Tata Indigo, and similar interiors. But, the speedometer would be at the centre of the dash, rather than the conventional right side.

The Tata Indigo Vista is also likely to feature ABS and airbags. However, due to a smaller price tag as compared to other cars, the Tata Indigo Vista car would be equipped only with the seatbelts and child lock, and no other safety features.

Auto analysts say that the Tata Indigo Vista is expected to compete with the Maruti Swift Dzire, Mahindra Renault Logan, Hyundai Accent, Ford Ikon and the Chevrolet Aveo. Tata Indigo Vista is to be mentioned here that the Maruti Swift Dzire, the Mahindra Renault Logan and the Ford Ikon are all available in petrol and diesel versions.
