Invicta at British International Motor Show

InvictaTHIS year’s British International Motor Show will be graced by a brace of fabulous Invicta S1-600s that will show off the independent firm’s versatility. The Chippenham, Wiltshire-based company will use the show to highlight both a lefthand drive export model, on show in the Ultimate Collection Public Gallery, while an exclusive viewing of the right-hand drive 2+2 can be enjoyed in the ticket-only Ultimate Collection Platinum Suite.

The pair will show off the firm’s evolution from the original design, as well as illustrating a real interest in the car from abroad.

Chairman Michael Bristow said: “We are pleased to announce the UK debut of the Invicta S1-600 left-hand drive export model. We are responding to overwhelming demand from overseas. The Show Car will be delivered to Germany, Invicta has appointed a Benelux dealer, and negotiations are ongoing with importers in other countries within Europe and worldwide.”

The Germany-bound twin-seater coupe boasts a subtle combination of Black Shadow Green paint, plush olive green carpeting and tan leather interior. The instruments nestle within real wood burr walnut, and the exterior has the highly polished castings and bonnet tear-drops traditionally associated with Invicta.

The Public Gallery-based left-hand drive model is an Invicta “first”, and the 2+2 that will line up in the Platinum Suite next to motoring giants like Ferrari and Lamborghini is unique in other ways.

Combining the practicality of extra seats with a racing look, this model features some important and dramatic style changes to the exterior, including:

- black alloys to contrast striking, red coachwork
- new, lower straight sills
- new design front grilles
- new design composite rear valance
- new rear light clusters

Mr Bristow added: “The new additions have created a sculptured, subtle and very distinctive car – classic Invicta.”

Although looking different from the outside, both cars will be powered by a supercharged 5.0-litre Ford V8 engine, which provides 600bhp and 575lbs/ft of torque at 4,500rpm. Combined with impressive suspension that merges road comfort with electrifying handling and superb grip on the race track, the Invicta is £150,000 of true luxury GT performance.

Hand-built by skilled craftsmen in the company’s Wiltshire home, the Invicta S1 was the first car to be successfully built from a single piece of carbon fibre.
